Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2019, returns!
8th August 2019 marks the official Grand Launch of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready-to-Wear 2019 (KLFW RTW 2019) at Skyview Platinum Park, Naza Tower Kuala Lumpur. KLFW2019 will be a 5-days event filled with back-to-back fashion shows featuring never-before-seen Ready-to-Wear collections by over 150 designers from across Asia. The launch was officiated by- Tuan Syed Yahya Syed Othman, Director of Package Development Division, Tourism Malaysia and Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion KL.
The remarkable evening united VIPs, partners, sponsors and members of the media where guests were treated to captivating performance by Kayda. The glamorous occasion was rounded up with exclusive sneak peeks of this year’s creations of more than 80 Malaysian designers who are showcasing their Ready-To-Wear collections at the fashionable hub of KL city, the Centre Court of Pavilion KL. Without a doubt, nothing short of astonishing are anticipated this year.

Founded in 2013, KLFW RTW celebrates its 7th anniversary this year and it’s about to get bigger than ever. This year, KLFW2019 is excited to partner up with local and International prestigious brands including LEXUS, HP, HUAWEI NOVA, ORIS WATCHES, LAZADA, BOOST, PANASONIC, AIRASIA, SHISEIDO, MIKO GALERE, L’OREAL PROFESSIONAL, KOTEX, MAYBANK, and many more exciting brand partnerships. In line with the month of independence, the KLFW RTW 2019 is also launching an exhibition entitled ‘Thread of Heritage’. The exhibition is supported by the Official Bank of KLFW - Maybank. The event will be held in Pavilion KL from 14 August until 2 September, displaying Malaysia’s iconic textile fabrics such as Tenun Pahang Diraja, Royal Terengganu Songket from Yayasan Tuanku Nur Zahirah.
Every year, KLFW never failed to inspire and motivate our homegrown brands, assisting in any way they could to allow the brand to grow within the industry. There are designers that achieved their milestones of success with KLFW along this journey such as Fazura, Maqilla, Syaiful Baharim and not forgetting the Malaysia’s Well-Known Senior Designer, Hatta Dolmat who shall make a return comeback in KLFW2019 after his splendid showcase in KLFW2015 went viral over social media. This year, Hatta Dolmat shall present his Ready-To-Wear collection that is exclusively targeted for the consumers and specially crafted with the touch of Hatta Dolmat designs genetic. Most importantly, it is affordable and a RTW, of course!
‘‘As a senior designer, my participation during the KLFW2019 this year, would be a challenge for me to present the best of my designs for the world to see. I presented DECADE during KLFW15 and it is still relevant up until now. Therefore, this year would be another benchmark that I set up high for my brand as well’’ said Hatta Dolmat.
Hatta also said, ‘’I wish for the 7th installment of KLFW this year, it would be bigger, better and able to open the eye of the world to the beauty and fun factor of our local fashion industry in Malaysia. I'm also hoping that KLFW would continuously become a platform for all designers to showcase their designs as well as their brands in order to reach out to the clients and consumers’’.
Lastly, KLFW won’t live up to its name without these Top 10 Powerhouse Malaysian Designers which includes Alia Bastamam, Rizman Ruzaini, Fiziwoo, Syomirizwa Gupta, Afiq M, Innai Red, Nurita Harith, Ezzati Amira, Jovian Mandagie, and MimpiKita. Among the 10 amazing shows by these designers, one of them will be closing Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2019 with a phenomenal remark.
