The exciting grand final saw the Miss Cosmopolitan World 2019 (MCW 2019) crown be passed on by last title winner, Miss Cosmopolitan World Korea, Soyeon Lim to Miss Cosmopolitan World Nepal, Priya Rani Lama.

The 28-year-old TV host, pageant choreographer and actress beat 31 other international contestants and 100 applicants worldwide by showing her confidence with intellectual & sharp responses during the Q&A sessions in the Top 10 and Top 5 rounds. When asked about why should she be given the honours for Miss Cosmopolitan World, she was quick and confident to say that everyone deserves a win in their own competitive advantage from the inside and outside, but most importantly she would commit herself in contributing to assisting the poor and underprivileged people around the world to make a better world.

The Top 5 Finalists this year was: Miss Nepal – Priya Rani Lama (Winner), Miss Malaysia – Christine Chai Xin Tze (1st Runner Up), Miss Netherlands – Marit Beets (2nd Runner Up), Miss Philippines – Clarisa Maye Presa Isidro (3rd Runner Up) and Miss Russia – Ekaterina Veinberger (4th Runner Up)

The 5th year for Miss Cosmopolitan World was held last night, Friday, 25th October 2019 in beautiful Putrajaya Marriot Hotel, and showcased the most successful edition, attracting 32 international representatives to compete for the prestigious title. Countries included Algeria, Armenia, Australia, Bashkortostan, Belarus, Belgium, Cambodia, China, Czech Republic, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Ukraine and Zimbabwe.

Priya Rani Lama of Nepal has ultimately scored the highest total amount of points based on beauty, personality, intelligence, creativity and talent. By winning the crown, Priya will now be an Ambassador and represent Miss Cosmopolitan World 2019 as a prominent role model in her capacity as an empowered woman, to encourage diversity and strength to all women. Centred on Empowering Women throughout the World, MCW 2019 gathered beauties from 5 continents to be groomed, trained and motivated. MCW aims to create new foundation for regional beauty pageants at the same time promoting Malaysia to the rest of the world.

This year, the quality of international beauty contestants has certainly risen in regards to intelligence, talent and beauty. The close competition gave the judges one of the toughest times in the 5 year history, and finally concluded the beauty pageant at only 1 am. Although it was late, there were plenty of guests who stayed back for the nail-biting announcement of the Top 5 Finalists battling it out. The Top 5 Finalists this year was: Miss Nepal – Priya Rani Lama (Winner), Miss Malaysia – Christine Chai Xin Tze (1st Runner Up), Miss Netherlands – Marit Beets (2nd Runner Up), Miss Philippines – Clarisa Maye Presa Isidro (3rd Runner Up) and Miss Russia – Ekaterina Veinberger (4th Runner Up).

Three weeks prior to the Grand Final, contestants went on for a journey through Malaysia, visiting Penang, Perak, Pahang and Selangor for CSR activities and tourism promotional activities. These include the Talent Show that was held 2 weeks before the Grand Final, held in Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur.
