Today on New Year’s Eve, local animation license, Ejen Ali gets a major boost with an announcement of Primeworks Studio and AirAsia jointly collaborating to distribute and export Ejen Ali’s original merchandizes through OURSHOP, AirAsia’s newly launched e-commerce platform. The official launch and announcement was a strong commitment by all parties, evident by the presence of Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar, CEO of Primeworks Studios, Ms. Aireen Omar is Deputy Group CEO (Digital, Transformation and Corporate Services), Ms. Lalitha Sivanaser, CEO of OURSHOP, Mr Usamah Zaid Yasin, CEO of WAU Animation (also Animation Director of Ejen Ali) and Mr Hasnul Hadi Samsudin, Vice President of Creative Content & Technologies of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

The partnership was kicked off at OURSHOP’s first pop-up store in Lot10 Shopping Center, Bukit Bintang, from 12 December 2019 to 1 January 2020. Best Sellers from Ejen Ali’s wide range of consumer products were on offer, including the styling scooter, walkie-talkie and the latest line of Back-to-School gear. Limited quantities of the EJEN ALI THE MOVIE Official Comic Book will also be in-store from 31 December 2019 onwards ahead of its release in bookstores nationwide in 2020.

Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar, CEO of Primeworks Studios reiterated, “Following the success of #MisiAspirasiAirAsia in 2017 and 2018 and with EJEN ALI THE MOVIE still going strong at the box-office, we’re excited to gear up Ejen Ali for another mission with the AirAsia group. Meanwhile, Lalitha Sivanaser, CEO of OURSHOP was delighted and exclaimed that since Ejen Ali has a huge following amongst the AirAsia family segment, it would most definitely benefit from the special offers on the merchandizes sold via OURSHOP, and to be delivered to Ejens worldwide. Hasnul Hadi Samsudin, VP of MDEC, was also passionately present, accompanied with his own ejen sons, was encouraged by the tremendous gamifications of deals in a short period, and hoped that Primeworks and WAU Animation would continue making sequels in the years to come.

Ahead of the release across Indonesia on New Year’s Day 2020, EJEN ALI THE MOVIE, RM28 MIL Malaysian Box Office success is poised to break many more achievements.
