Superfood Ventures Sdn Bhd is pleased to announce that it has taken a Hawker Chan, the first hawker awarded a One Michelin Star and the world’s cheapest Michelin-starred meal, franchise from Liao Fan Hawker Chan (Global) Pte Ltd which is under Hersing Culinary to open its first quick service restaurant (QSR) concept in Kuala Lumpur.

The first shop in Kuala Lumpur is in the heart of Chinatown, a destination for the tourist and convenient to the locals. An 80-seat air condition restaurant, which is in the new and up-coming tourist attraction, Kwai Chai Hong.

Signature Dish - Braised Soya Sauce Chicken Rice

The restaurant will serve Hawker Chan’s famed soya sauce chicken rice and noodle dishes, which in July 2016, Chan Hon Meng won the plaudits of the MICHELIN Guide Singapore. Hawker Chan procures the ingredients each morning to ensure the best quality and freshness. His unique recipe requires five hours of preparation.

The soya-sauce-glazed skin is of a perfect silky and smooth texture. The meat is tender as well as juicy, and pairs impeccably with the fragrant rice. While the signature chicken gets the spotlight, the other assortment of meats such as the char siew and roast pork are equally coveted by diners. The char siew has a distinctive caramelized sweetness and aroma. The interplay of lean and fat textures is wonderful. On the other hand, the roast pork’s crispy skin with its enticing fat is delightfully addictive.

Hawker Chan came to debut in Kuala Lumpur on time this year for the Visit Malaysia Year 2020 and is now undergoing upgrades with its ambiance for comfort and cleanliness as to attract tourists and customers. Hawker Chan operation hours is 10am to 9pm and it will be open during this Chinese New Year Festival with operation hours for CNY Day 1 from 10am to 3pm; CNY Day 2 from 10am to 6pm.
