eRezeki is a Digital Malaysia initiative by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) Sdn Bhd aimed at connecting and empowering low-income households to digital income opportunities. Individuals will be trained to perform simple digital tasks that suit their skill-set and become part of a competitive digital workforce. As a “digital worker”, individuals can register on the eRezeki Digital Work Portal, and select what work interests appeals to them.

The initiative aims to aid Malaysian citizens with a household income below RM4,000 per month. Moreover, the program will enable individuals to learn new skills and earn additional income. Since the launched, the responses have been overwhelming and encouraging as people are intrigued by such golden opportunities.

Speaking at MDeC's Hari Raya Open House on 7th August 2015, YBhg. Dato’ Yasmin Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) said, "Within one week of eRezeki’s launch, we managed to get more than 10,000 participants. We are very happy that our program is getting favorable responses and we hope the numbers will continue to grow.”

There is a high demand and many opportunities for the online workforce as companies are under greater pressure to deliver their services faster, provide more accurate information and to manage their businesses more efficiently and more competitively. Thus, eRezeki Centres are being established at strategic locations across the country. This is to enable citizens, particularly from the lower income households that require assistance accessing facilities and IT infrastructure, to participate in the program.

At the centre, registered members will be able to access one-to-one and group training sessions in the types of work offered on the eRezeki Digital Work Portal for free.
