International Automotive Certified Institute (IACI), an international automotive institute based in Malaysia, was pre-launched on February 15, 2020. This unique institute of higher learning will provide academic courses and professional training to develop talents while creating business opportunities in the prestigious automotive industry, which is worth RM 40 billion, which employs a workforce of 700,000 people in Malaysia. The pre-Launch of the International Automotive Certified Institute was graced and organized by YBhg Dato’ Calvin Yap, known as the "Car King" of Asia and also the Founder & Chairman of the International Automotive Certified Institute, along with his supporting management: Chester Yap (CEO of IACI) and HM Azmi Mohd Noor (VP of IACI), as well as invited VIPs: Mr Cheah Soon Keat , Gan Wee Keat and among other attend.

The auspicious and momentous event was held at Wisma Hua Zhong, Seri Kembangan, which embraced the morning with an official signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which showcased its collaboration between IACI with the Malaysian Automotive Workshop Marketing Agency Association (MAWMAA), and other strategic partners supported by Dato’ Calvin Yap.

According to Dato' Calvin Yap, there was a strong urgency and evident demand to set-up IACI to collectively accelerate the automotive economy and train entrepreneurs within the field of automotive industry. Dato' Calvin had this to say: "IACI in confidence will help create genuine business opportunities for Malaysia, including the unfortunates such as the disabled, the rural community, the unemployed and anyone else who had the potential in becoming a strong entrepreneur in the automotive industry. The Malaysian automotive industry contributed 4.3% of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) while it received RM3 Billion in investment for its development and growth, which proves that the automotive industry is a thriving industry with ample of potential to expand and grow.”

In regards to accesibility to its education, IACI branches will rapidly expand its opeartions throughout Malaysia with a strategic plan to open a branch in every DUN / Parliament area in Malaysia, starting with Penang, Johor, etc. The establishment of the IACI also aims to solve various economic problems and assist in job creation for the nation, in partnership with the Malaysian Government. The first IACI branch will open near the South Integrated Terminal in March 2020.

IACI will have its own formal international education syllabus and will teach a wide range of automotive skills to all its participants. In 3rd to 5th April 2020, MATRADE will be holding an "Asia Car Expo and Lifestyle 2020" which will be filled with car booths, seminars and a host of other activities. With the theme "We Learn, We Earn, We Help" through "National Automotive Entrepreneurs", IACI will provide participants with skills related to entrepreneurship, employment and education.

Participants taking the courses and trainings, which will have a duration of one to two years pending on the type of syllabus chosen, will receive a professional certificate upon completion of the course and training.
