The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) in association with the Creative Content Association Malaysia (CCAM) are Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) are set to lead more than 40 prominent international content buyers to KL Converge! 2015 from 27th to 29th August, to showcase Malaysia’s creative industry through digital convergence of communications, broadcasting, digital technology and creative content.
KL Converge! is an annual showcase to promote and expedite the exchange of content for ASEAN and other regional players, thus FINAS together with CCAM are seizing this opportunity by providing maximum exposure to global content buyers with the objectives to create opportunities for IP acquisition, securing licensing partnerships, and international co-productions.
Among the international content buyers invited by FINAS and CCAM are TV 5 Network (Cambodia), Hunan Radio & TV (China), Turner International Asia/Cartoon Network Asia (Hong Kong), MNC (Indonesia), Global TV (Indonesia), OSN (UAE), Tokyo Broadcasting System (Japan), Education Broadcasting System (Korea), Discovery Network Asia, VTV Education (Vietnam), IRIB Media Trade (Iran), Kantana Group (Thailand) and many more. While MDeC will bring 9 key international game buyers namely Zodiak Kids (UK), Nickelodeon (US) and Spin Master Entertainment (Canada) among others.
Besides organising more than 600 Business Matching Business Meetings, participating companies will also get more information on new and available incentives and government funding at the FINAS Pavilion, such as the recently introduced FINAS Pitching Centre’s Co-Production Fund that is designed to provide financial assistance to a project within the Eligible Project Categories (eg. Animation, Games, TV and Feature Film) to be co-produced by a Malaysian company and one or more foreign companies.
