Sead Studios’s resident little boy with a big heart, The Amazing Awang Khenit will make its debut on Singapore’s MediaCorp Suria channel on January 2016.
The Amazing Awang Khenit tells a story of Awang, a teen who is unable to grow up as he was cursed by a dark wizard – Megat Tani – since he was 10 years old. His adventure begins after the disappearance of his parents, which he believed were captured by the wizard. The 24-episode, 11-minute show also features Malaysia’s famous folklores, mythical creatures and legendary characters.
Speaking of the collaboration, Mr. Syamsul Ikhram B Ghazali (Rambai), CEO of Sead Studios said, “We hope that the collaboration will pave the way to another level of business deal and to connect the business ecosystem in the animation industry.”
Currently, the series airs on Media Prima's TV9 from Monday to Saturday and it has received an overwhelming 2.4 million audiences per week. Sead Studios have completed 20 episodes so far and and they are hoping to complete the production by November 2015.
The Amazing Awang Khenit was also praised by critics and went on to be nominated recently for the Best Animated Series in the prestigious Malaysia Film Festival (FFM27).
