FFM27 has recorded a memorable career highlight for Nur Fazura as she bagged the prestigious Best Actress award at the 27th Malaysia Film Festival (FFM27) for her performance in ‘Manisnya Cinta di Cappadocia.’
The actress was nominated three times for the most coveted award for ‘Qaisy & Laila’ (2005), ‘Gol & Gincu’ (2006) and ‘Kayangan’ (2008) after winning her first Malaysia Film Festival trophy as the Most Promising Actress at FFM17 for Bicara Hati (2004).
Even after more than a decade in the industry, she has never gave up as winning the Best Actress title has been her dream from the beginning. “This award is not a ticket for me to be overly proud of myself and my achievement. This is a reminder for me to keep on giving my best of effort in every single movie that I will be working on” said the 31-year old actress.
This year, the actress was nominated in two categories namely Best Supporting Actress (for her performance in Kami Histeria) against Izara Aishah (Sejoli), Ayu Raudhah (Lagenda Budak Setan 3), Nadiya Nisaa (Terbaik Dari Langit) and Eja (Manisnya Cinta Di Cappadocia) as well as Best Actress (for her performance in Manisnya Cinta Di Cappadocia) against Dawn Cheong (Cuak), Lisa Surihani (Dendam Orang Mati), Maya Karin (Sejoli) and Sara Ali (Kami Histeria).
She added, “I still have a long way to go and I got a lot to learn. I hope I will have the chance to star in many great films with a good character development that can challenge me to be better.”
Next on the cards for Fazura is ‘Langit Cinta’ directed by Osman Ali, in which she stars alongside Keith Foo to be screened later this year.
