The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) has initiated a series of creative content competition since 2006 titled the MSC Malaysia Intellectual Property Creators Challenge (IPCC) that covers 2 types of creative multimedia content, namely; animation and casual games. Due to the overwhelming responses, MDeC has extended the deadline to 15th September 2015 so potential home-grown creative contents still stand a chance to gain international recognition.
The main objective of this competition is to unearth and enhance the capability of local talents in terms of the development of new intellectual properties (IP) and help spur the growth of the creative multimedia industry under the MSC Malaysia Creative Multimedia Content Initiative (M-CMCI).
This unique competition is open to amateurs and professionals from the creative multimedia industry and the judges are selected from among the best in the industry. At the end of the competition, winner will receive grants worth up to RM60,000, a development centre at Cyberjaya, unlimited access to MSC Malaysia Animation & Creative Content Centre’s (MAC3) facilities and also, consultancy from industry heavyweights that will further help them in turning their ideas to reality.
Some of the previous winners for IPCC includes Dino Howl (Hammu The Gourmet Hamster), Lil’ Critter Workshop (Outlaw Dark), Lorrypop Studio (Bunny Escape Adventure Story), and Nadi Studio (Back to School).
