DreamWorks Launches its Second TV Channel in Asia on HyppTV

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (DWA) along with HBO Asia, launched DreamWorks channel, a brand new channel for kids and family on TM’s award winning IPTV service – HyppTV. Following the channel’s inaugural launch in Thailand last month, Malaysia becomes the second country in Asia to debut the channel, which DreamWorks and HBO are offering across the region.

The new channel was launched by Jeremy Kung, Executive Vice President, New Media, TM together with Eric Ellenbogen, Co-Head, International TV & DreamWorks Classics and Jonathan Spink, Chief Executive Officer, HBO Asia at Menara Kuala Lumpur today.

Speaking during the launch, Jeremy Kung noted: “At HyppTV, we continue to bring Malaysian viewers with exciting, unique world-class content to fulfil our subscribers’ demands. Hence, we are excited to bring a brand new, never before seen channel in Malaysia such as DreamWorks as it offers fresh world class animation series for our customers that can be enjoyed by the whole family, giving them an enhanced wholesome family viewing experience.”

Meanwhile, Eric Ellenbogen said: “We are excited to be working with TM and HyppTV to bring our original television series to families all over Malaysia. DreamWorks is the home of great animation and storytelling, and we are thrilled to bring our content across every platform imaginable.”

Among the original series offered include the Emmy-award winning series All Hail King Julien, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, Dragons: Race to the Edge, Dinotrux, Casper’s Scare School and many more original series expected to be added in early 2016.

DreamWorks is available on HyppTV Channel 550, with two months FREE viewing for all subscribers starting 10 September 2015.
