Point College’s student, Ms. Chong Hui Thing made Malaysia proud by winning the First Prize in the Nikon Photo Contest 2014-2015 (Open Category-Animation), and was congratulated by Datuk Seri Dr. Mohd Salleh Tun Said Keruak, Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia, during his visit to Point College on the 1st December 2015.
The Minister remarked, "With the creative and content industry growing at an explosive rate, demand for creative talent has been increasing exponentially. Malaysia needs more graduates to meet the industry's high demand and I am glad that Point College produces world-class industry-ready graduates to meet industry demand".
Currently pursuing her Diploma in Digital Animation under the FINAS ‘Creative Industry Lifelong Learning Program' (CILL) scholarship, Hui Ting’s entry titled ‘Memories’ was chosen among 99,339 total entries from 153 countries and was crowned as the winner in Shanghai, China.
Datuk Seri Dr. Mohd Salleh also highlighted that, with assistance from the CILL Programme, the Ministry has supported a number of innovative creative institutions by giving scholarships and the Ministry is looking forward to Point College training, nurturing and producing more industry-ready and award-winning students.
Yoki Chin, the President of Point College; FilmPoint; and Post-production, Animation & Creative Content Association Malaysia, reiterated, "Point College would like to thank the Ministry of Multimedia and Communications Malaysia, together with FINAS, MDEC and MCMC for the great support given thus far".
