After smashing local cinema box-office records just few weeks after its release, BoBoiBoy: The Movie widens its horizon into the mobile gaming platform. Developed by Alkemis Games; a dedicated mobile games studio in Indonesia and published by 8elements; Asia's leading publisher for games and services based in Hong Kong, the mobile game is licensed from Animonsta Studios, Malaysia.
Titled BoBoiBoy: Power Spheres, the mobile game allows the players to play as the main character and race through a 100 different exciting levels to save Ochobot from villains. This split-screen game combines Match 3 Puzzle gameplay with action elements and challenges the players' solving skills and speed.
Both Alkemis and 8elements acquired the license for BoBoiBoy as they believe that it is the best brand to look into to publish a mobile game for their regionally growing fan base. Consequently the game also supports multi-languages such as Bahasa Malaysia, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese and English.
“We plan to reach 1 million fans by the end of April. This is a very ambitious goal but we believe in the IP and the movie, as well as the power of the BoBoiBoy brand and its global fans to reach the aim,” said Joerg Tente, CEO of 8elements Asia Pacific Ltd.
Previously, 8elements published BoBoiBoy: Adudu Attacks! which received overwhelming downloads and peaked at no. 3 in Malaysia. As for Alkemis Games, BoBoiBoy: Power Spheres is its second biggest hit development, after Raiders Quest in 2015.
Rated 4-stars on Google Play, BoBoiBoy: Power Spheres is also available on the App Store.
