Media Prima Enters Subscription-based Video-on-Demand Market with Tonton VIP

Media Prima Television Networks (MPTN), the leading fully-integrated media company in Malaysia entered the Subscription-based Video-on-Demand (SVOD) market with tonton VIP.

Datuk Kamal Khalid, Chief Executive Officer of Media Prima Television Networks (MPTN) revealed, “80 percent of the new and enhanced tonton’s offerings are exciting local contents, providing the video portal a unique positioning over other OTT players in the market, subsequently taking tonton to a whole new level.”

Starting from just RM3 per day, all 5.6 million registered tonton users as well as the new ones will get to enjoy free content when they upgrade to tonton VIP plus a host of benefits, such as access to exclusive live events in HD and binge watch all of their favourite dramas before it even airs on TV.

Additionally, tonton VIPs will be able to access over 20,000 hours of content featuring tonton exclusives and a huge library of much-loved broadcast classics such as Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu and Kopitiam. MPTN also revamped tonton’s website to enrich the subscribers’ viewing experience, anytime, anywhere.

Currently, tonton is the number one video streaming portal in Malaysia with over 5.6 million registered users with over 22,000 new registrants and 222,000 unique visitors weekly.
