China's Award-Winning Filmmaker, Xie Fei to Share 3 Decades of Filmmaking with FINAS

China’s award-winning veteran filmmaker, Xie Fei will be sharing his experience in filmmaking for the past 3 decades during his masterclass which will be organised by the National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) at the Content Malaysia Pitching Centre on 14th to 15th May 2016.

Known as Professor Xie Fei, he is also the Vice President of Beijing Film Academy, apart from being a member council of the Chinese Filmmakers' Association and Executive Vice Chairman of the Chinese Film Directors' Association.

Furthermore, the veteran filmmaker is one of the most frequent laureates of various awards both in China and abroad such as ‘Berlin International Film Festival,’ ‘Chinese Golden Rooster Awards’ and the ‘World Film Festival at Montreal.’

In this masterclass, Xie Fei will discuss his distinctive idealism that has made his films so successful and share valuable insights into his filmmaking process, besides sharing his experience into what it takes to be a world-class filmmaker, and showcase his award winning films.

The session will start with a screening of his award-winning films; Black Snow (1990) which won the Silver Bear award at the Berlin International Film Festival, The Women from the Lake of Scented Souls (1993) which took home the Golden Bear award at the Berlin International Film Festival, and A Mongolian Tale (1995) which garnered him the Best Director in Montreal.

Xie Fei’s masterclass is open to the public from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm and admission is free.
