WebTVAsia, Asia’s leading digital entertainment network with the widest reach of studios and channels in 12 Asia-Pacific countries, organised the Rise of Asia Forum which aimed to unite Asian media entertainment market on 15th July 2016 in Bali, Indonesia.
The forum gathered 27 most influential players in Asian media entertainment industry such as platforms, networks, brands, marketers, creators, and talent in four intriguing sessions; Media and Networks, Brands and Marketing, Creators and Talent, as well as Creators Showcase.
Fred Chong, Group CEO of WebTVAsia said, “WebTVAsia envisions to empower both opinion leaders and decision makers to embrace the creative and commercial influence of Asian creators, content and culture in both the traditional and digital media spaces.”
The first session was moderated by Fred to discuss on how to build a sustainable ecosystem where Asian players can win the ‘game’ together, along with Maggie Zhou, Co-President of CMC Holdings (China); David Fernandez Audy, President Director of Global TV MNC Media (Indosnesia); Ahmad Izham Omar, CEO of Primeworks Studios Media Prima (Malaysia); Tamon Andrew Niwa, President of Media Business BS-TBS (Japan); and Donald Lim, Chief Digital Officer of ABS-CBN (Philippines.)
“Today, we hope to witness an open debate and stimulating ideas exchange between our esteemed speakers, and while we may not arrive in a definite conclusion today, WebTVAsia will continue to facilitate a catalyst for change, that will take Asia’s creative content ecosystem to another level,” Fred added.
The second session, aimed to discuss on the right marketing strategy targeting millennial was moderated by Soon Seng Chu, CEO of WebTVAsia Thailand and Vietnam, with speakers from Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan, and Singapore. Whereas the third session addressed the potential of Asian talent to become a superstar beyond digital world, moderated by Tony Chang, COO of WebTVAsia Taiwan.
In addition, the Creators Showcase gathered nine creators from all over Asia; Leona Chin and Joanna Soh (Malaysia), Jannine Weigel (Thailand), He Jia Ying (China) and others to engage each other and learn from some of the biggest and upcoming digital influencers in Asia.
The Rise of Asia Forum was held in conjunction with WebTVAsia’s Viral Fest Asia 2016, Asia’s biggest digital music festival featuring and all star line-ups of 27 top Asian artistes on 16th July 2016 in Bali, Indonesia.
