Local award-winning artist, Resh has teamed up with one of India’s most accomplished indie pop artist, Monica Dogra for his new single, Trouble. The ballad is the third single from his critically acclaimed EP, Who Am I.

The R&B track is produced by an American songwriter and producer, Jim Beanz who has collaborated and written hits for Whitney Houston, Craig David, Timbaland, Chris Brown and many others. Resh is the first Malaysian artist to work with the award winning producer on a number of tracks, 6 of which ended up on his latest EP, starting with his first single, Half the Man. In November 2015, Half the Man premiered at #13 on the US Top 20 radio program, a syndicated radio chart show that is played over 500 stations around the world.

Continuing from the international success of his previous two singles, including Can’t Live Without Ya, the third single is set to introduce Resh to the listeners in India. Resh also directed the music video himself, which was filmed in Malaysia and India, making it his fifth directorial effort.

On their collaboration, Resh stated, “I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Monica on this track. The possibilities are endless as music transcends all borders.” He also added that the song does not necessarily mean 'trouble' in the gravest sense, but rather a sense of knowing a certain someone could be trouble, but the attarction spurs you on.

Monica, who has never experimented with a pure pop sound before added, "I think I learn something new about myself through these collaborations. I'm really interested in bridging the gap between India and other Southeast Asian countries.  Hopefully now, Indian audiences will become better acquainted with what's happening in our neighboring countries, and vice a versa."

Monica Dogra is India’s most popular indie artist who has released four studio albums with her band, Shaa’ir + Func. In January 2016, she released her debut solo album titled Spit which features collaborations with music producers around the world such as Robot Koch (Germany), Prash Engine-Earz Mistry (UK), and Gaurav Raina (India).

Trouble is now available on all major streaming platforms.
