Malaysian Documentary Association (MyDocs) is set to present the European Documentary Network (EDN) Pitch Pilot Workshop, a three-day event focusing on the development of pitching pilots (trailers) to strengthen the visual and cinematic expression of the projects, from 19th to 21st October 2016.
Also supported by FINAS, the workshop is aimed at documentary professionals such as teams of directors, producers and editors with a project in development, as the participating projects will go through developments in aspects of directing, producing and structuring of the story.
The workshop will then select four documentary projects to develop a world class trailer, which will be supervised by a leading international editor, Phil Jandaly. For the past 20 years, Phil has built an international reputation as an editor and story consultant, working on projects in Serbia, Holland, France, South Korea and more, with a focus on human rights stories.
“A good pitch is about much more than being a good performer. With the development of the pitching sessions, the visual part of the pitch has become a central element. Hence, EDN have developed a workshop with focus on the creative development of the visual material that is shown during a pitch to meet these demands for pitching documentaries,” said the network.
Filmmakers can submit their project before 28th September 2016 and the submission must include a written 2-page presentation of the project, accompanied by a visual material which has been shot for the submitted project.
