The Malaysian Documentary Association, MyDocs is on the lookout for local filmmakers to be a part of the delegation to represent Malaysia at the 7th edition of the Asian Side of the Doc International Market in Bangkok from 31st October to 3rd November 2016.

MyDocs; which is a non-profit association assisting in the development of the Malaysian documentary industry both locally and internationally, is offering out a grant for selected Malaysian filmmakers to attend the annual event which will include a full sponsorship for the market’s registration fees and significant funding for the attendee's flight and accommodation fees.

Applicants are expected to have experience working on a professional documentary production or are able to hand over a documentary proposal to the association. Interested parties can apply for the grant by submitting their resume accompanied with a paragraph reasoning your interest to attend the market before 7th October 2016.

Yves Jeanneau, CEO of Sunny Side markets said, “Since ASEAN includes rapidly developing countries, the market will definitely provide an opportunity for internationalisation for most of them.”

Established in 2010, the Asian Side of the Doc puts the spotlight on the dynamic Asian factual programmes sector, now running in both directions; Asia to Asia, and Asia to the rest of the world. Featuring four days of pitching sessions, in-depth panels, one-to-one meetings and training workshops, the event provides opportunities for delegates to create new partnerships.
