Malaysian artistes bagged six out of 19 awards at the Anugerah Planet Muzik (APM) 2016, including two main awards of the night; APM's Best Song and APM's Most Popular Song.
Held at the Mediacorp’s Theater in Singapore on 30th September 2016, Anugerah Planet Muzik is the only award show that celebrates the best musicians from three countries in the region; Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
Local singer and actress, Ayda Jebat who had five nominations took home three awards; APM's Most Popular Artiste, Social Media Icon, and APM's Most Popular Song, with her single Pencuri Hati.
Whereas local band, Caliph Buskers garnered the APM's Best Song and Best Song (Malaysia) awards for their ballad, Hanya Nama Mu. The band also took the stage to perform the hit song which was written by Edry Abdul Halim.
Other notable winner of the night was the singer-songwriter Yuna, who received the International Breakthru Artiste Award for her continued success in penetrating the global market.
Last year, Malaysia also took home the Best APM Song and Best Song (Malaysia) awards for Faizal Tahir’s critically-acclaimed song, Assalamualaikum.
