Six Malaysian animation projects out of 26 total projects have been selected to represent Malaysia at the 2016 Asian Animation Summit. Set to take place from 22nd – 24th November 2016 in Brisbane, Australia, the Asian Animation Summit is an annual event designed to showcase Asia's strongest animated projects for investors and partners.

The projects; TIDO by The Commonist, Junglemajig by Tudidut Studio, Kertaz by Gancho Studios, Okolele by Metal Brain Studio, Sophia & Friends by eD ONLINE Technologies and Wonderbots by W Animation will be screened alongside 20 other projects from Korea, Thailand, New Zealand and the host country Australia.

Aimed to facilitate international financing, selected projects will be presented live during the summit to an audience of broadcasters, co-producers, distributors and investors from across the globe.

Apart from the screenings, the event will also be hosting informative conference sessions on topics that are personally catered to Asian animation producers, including an exclusive brief on the all-new YouTube Kids app by Sanoop Luke, leader of YouTube’s Kids & Learning Content in Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.

The 2016 Asian Animation Summit is organised by Kidscreen together with presenting partners KOCCA (Korea), MDEC (Malaysia), and SIPA and DITP (Thailand) with the support of Screen Queensland and Brisbane Marketing.
