Malaysia’s highest-grossing animation film, BoBoiBoy the Movie is set to debut in Korean cinemas next year. Animonsta Studios, the creator behind the animation revealed that they are currently working with Vision Plus Entertainment and Korean distributor, Boxoo Entertainment to bring the Malaysian superhero to Korea.
The studio is currently in the process of delivering materials to the Korean distributor, and the movie will be dubbed in Korean before making its theatrical release in 100 screens across the country in the first quarter of 2017.
"BoBoiBoy is a universal animation in terms of the storyline that promotes good values, teamwork and togetherness. We hope that the Korean audience will enjoy the movie as much as our fans in Southeast Asia," said Kee Yong Pin, Chief Operation Officer of Animonsta Studios.
The COO also voiced out his hopes for the silver screen debut to create a demand for the series and pave a path for many more opportunities for BoBoiBoy in the country.
BoBoiBoy the series was recently rebranded into BoBoiBoy Galaxy; with a more refined look and focused on adventure based storyline. The sequel title, which debuted on 25th November 2016 has garnered over 1 million views online.
