Malaysia Bags Five Awards at 21st Asian Television Awards

Malaysia's creative content and talents bagged five awards at the 21st annual presentation of the region's most prestigious industry awards, Asian Television Awards (ATA) 2016 in Singapore.
 
Malaysia won five out of 14 of its nominations, including the show's highlight award; Best Single Drama or Telemovie through Astro with Tulus Ikhlas, Best 3D Animated Programme via Giggle Garage’s Origanimals as well as Cable and Satellite Channel of the Year through Al Jazeera English.
 
Apart from the five awards, Malaysia was also mentioned for the highly commended Best Social Awareness Programme through Al Jazeera English' 101 East - Too Young to Wed and Best Actor in a Leading Role through Bront Palarae's role in Eropah, Here I Am produced by Wayang Works Sdn Bhd.
 
Launched in 1996, Asian Television Awards is the Asian TV industry’s most significant and celebrated event, recognising excellence in programming, production and performance.
 
This year, the award show partnered with RTL CBS Entertainment as the official regional broadcaster to broadcast the awards ceremony “live” across the region.
