TGV Cinemas Sdn Bhd (TGV) launched its 34th cinema at Sunway Velocity mall with the country’s largest IMAX screen for a remarkably immersive cinematic experience. The 9-hall multiplex cinema with a capacity of 1,638 boasts its IMAX hall with 287 seats, 40 of which are the luxury Indulge seats.

The state-of-the-art multiplex is also set to be TGV’s home for future immersive cinema experience events. The investment was a conscious decision by TGV to position the multiplex as the only immersive cinema experience in Kuala Lumpur.

“TGV’s strategic partnership with IMAX Corporation serves as a game-changer for the cinema-goers – who can trust that we will provide a riveting experience on the world’s most immersive film platform. With a roster of blockbusters films coming up, viewers can anticipate for the money-can’t-buy experience only at TGV,” said Gerald Dibbayawan, CEO of TGV Cinemas Sdn Bhd.

Roger Pollock, Executive Vice President, Head of Global Film and Exhibitor Marketing and Senior Vice President, IMAX Corporation commented, “TGV Cinemas is a tremendous IMAX brand ambassador that shares our passion for quality and innovation. Together, we are excited to bring IMAX to another premiere destination and thrill more audiences with the world’s most immersive cinematic experience.”

TGV Cinemas is one of Malaysia’s biggest operators and owners of premier multiplexes with 34 multiplexes with 270 screens and 48,000 seats in its fold. Through its exclusive partnership with IMAX Corporation, the cinema operator has launched six IMAX theatres in Malaysia to-date at TGV 1 Utama, TGV Sunway Pyramid, TGV Cinemas Vivacity Megamall and others.
