Local content developer, Vision Works Sdn Bhd launched Malaysia’s first digital comic, Boboi featuring 700 minutes of downloadable motion graphic content in 2D.
Available in both still and animated version with rich audio and visual content, the digital comic was inspired by the characters developed and popularised by local actors; Afdlin Shauki and the late Harun Salim Bachik.
Available on both Apple and Android platforms, the digital comic is currently offering four downloadable volumes with a total of six stories in each volume, including Ah Long Bukit Beruntung, Boboi The Origin, Oppa Evengers Style, Male dan Leman Punya Cilok, Brani Punya Budak, Ayah We & Co, and many more.
“We take all aspects of the storytelling and content seriously, including the background music as we want to engage our readers and viewers in new ways,” said Afdlin Shauki, CEO of Vision Works who also revealed that the digital comic aims to ensure the local comic industry remains competitive and relevant.
The Boboi digital comc is illustrated by local renowned cartoonists such as Aie, Bophairy, Alifstyle, Mr. Smiley, Nik and others while the animation is directed by Jefri Adzman.
