Professional Film Workers Association of Malaysia (Persatuan Pekerja Profesional Filem Malaysia (PROFIMA)) launched the inaugural Festival Filem Krew Malaysia 2017(KREWFEST2017) together with an award night, Malam Gala Anugerah PROFIMA 2017 (MGAP2017), which will be held in November 2017 at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur.

KREWFEST2017 aims to recognise film production crews who work tirelessly behind the scene with 72 awards up for grabs such as Best Producer, Best Director, Best Make Up, Best Stunt, Best Cameraman, Best Art Direction and others. There will be 66 competing categories and 6 non- competing categories.

In addition, the festival also seeks to spread awareness on potential careers in the creative industry for the younger generation. Hence, besides the main award event, it will also feature film workshops and talks, exhibition of film equipment, and live stunt show by local stuntmen.

Set to be co-organised by National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) and Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), the festival also hopes to be the platform to facilitate local universities and colleges in reaching wider audience for their filming related courses.

Submission date for the award will open in April 2017 until September 2017. Submission must be the title(s) produced and aired or screened from 2014 to 2016.
