Beto Kusyairi Wins ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ Award at Singapore’s Pesta Perdana

Malaysian actor, Beto Kusyairi garnered the ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role (Drama Series)’ award for his role in the light-hearted Singaporean drama series, Kisah Tok Kadi at the 14th Pesta Perdana in Singapore recently.

Kisah Tok Kadi revolves around the life of a young popular ‘tok kadi’, Shahrul (Beto Kusyairi), who successfully conducts solemnization for couples each week. In each episode, Kisah Tok Kadi shows some of the unique experiences that Shahrul faces during solemnization and how he tackles those challenges. 

“I’m humbled and thankful for the award as I did not expect to win - I just came to congratulate and support the industry,” said the award winning actor.

Kisah Tok Adi also bagged three other awards; ‘Most Promising Actor/Actress’, ‘Best Actor in Supporting Role (Drama Series)’, and ‘Most Popular Programme.’ 

Established in 1997, the Pesta Perdana award is organised by Suria under MediaCorp to recognise, acknowledge and honour the best talents in the Singapore Malay television industry. This year, Suria received 389 entries from various production houses for programmes which were broadcasted from 1st January 2015 to 31st December 2016.
