The region’s prestigious television industry award, Asian Television Awards (ATA) 2017, which spans 42 contested categories across variety of genres and performance segments, is now calling for entries for programmes produced from 1st June 2016 to 31st May 2017.
Keeping up with the #CelebratingAsianTV as the theme, the award introduced ‘Best Scriptwriting for Web Programme/Series’ category for its 22nd edition, to recognise the emerging trend in original digital productions.
“We felt it is an opportune time to incorporate the additional web category into ATA with the digital becoming such significant part of today’s media scene. We are proud to support a diverse community of talents from Asia who have unique stories to tell,” said Raymond Wong, Chairman of ATA.
Last year, Malaysia's creative content and talent bagged five awards, including Best Single Drama or Telemovie (Tulus Ikhlas), Best Actor in a Leading Role (Bront Palarae), Best 3D Animated Programme (Origanimals), and more.
Asian Television Awards received over 1,000 entries annually across 17 countries and the submissions were reviewed by an expert panel of over 60 judges from across the region.
This year, the awards ceremony will take place on 30th November and 1st December 2017 at Suntec Singapore.
