Datuk Seri Dr. Salleh Said Keruak, Minister of Communications and Multimedia, and Datuk Sabin Bin Samitah, CEO of HASiL sharing the taxation guidelines
The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (HASiL) and the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) partners on taxation awareness for the creative industry at the Sepetang Mesra Bersama Karyawan Seni. The event was officiated by the Datuk Seri Dr. Salleh Said Keruak, Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia.
The announcement aims to create awareness on taxation within the community, especially the creative industry players.
The event highlights the importance of income tax contribution as a responsibility for all profession including the creative industry. All the tax collection are channel back to the community through development, subsidies, financial aids, job opportunities and many more.
Datuk Sabin Bin Samitah, Chief Executive Officer of HASiL said: “We have worked together with various creative professionals on promoting taxation in video making, television programmes and other programmes to engage the public effectively.”
Aligned with the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) for Kempen Negaraku throughout the country, the initiative focuses on inspirational achievement among Malaysians.
“Celebrities are considered as the bridge between the government and the community. By showing a good example in income tax contribution, others will follow,” said Datuk Seri Dr. Salleh Said Keruak.
Among the attendees are Dato' Fauzi Ayob, Director General of FINAS, Datuk Freddie Fernandez, President of Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia, Datuk DJ Dave, President of Yayasan Artis 1Malaysia, and Zed Zaidi, President of Persatuan Seniman Malaysia, representing various professionals in creative industry.
