Fahezul Azri will be showcasing his "Tak Ku Tak!" at Dancebox 2017.

Malaysian choreographer Fahezul Azri Suhaimi will be displaying a piece called “Tak Ku Tak!” at Dancebox 2017, a one-night only event showcasing seven new works choreographed and performed by a mix of aspiring choreographers along with industry veterans, on July 9, 2017 at Pentas 2, The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac).

Fahezul Azri’s “Tak Ku Tak!” presents a whole new way of approaching the concept of roots. The artist merges traditional and modern elements in his deconstructed ritual dance, Magunataip, originating from Murut Nabai in Sabah.

Fahezul Azri has been involved in many productions such as Flatland: An Adaption In Dance by Suhaili Micheline which nabbed the Best Group Award at the Boh Cameronian Arts Awards 2014. He had also won 3 gold medals to 3 silver in the World Championship of Performing Arts which came with a scholarship to Mellinium Dance Complex, LA for a month.

Dancebox 2017, a product of MyDance Alliance and The Actors Studio with the support of klpac, will also be featuring other choreographers such as Chloe Chotrani, Joyce Chan Suet Mei, Lau Beh Chin, Leng Poh Gee, Sang Woo Ha, and Tan Bee Hung.
