MMK is set to host the 4th Miss & Mrs Malaysia Kebaya 2017/2018

Miss Malaysia Kebaya Marketing (MMK) launched the 4th Miss & Mrs Malaysia Kebaya 2017/2018 yesterday at Megaview Banquet Hall, KL Tower. This was followed by the launching of Miss & Mrs Kebaya World 2017/2018 pageant. These events aim to promote Malaysian culture and tourism to the world.

Miss & Mrs Malaysia Kebaya 2017/2018 is open to any Malaysian female aged 18 to 50 years old regardless of marital status, race or religion. The only condition is that participants must have a minimum height of 160 cm. With adequate requirements, 20-26 participants will be chosen for the Grand Finale. A grand prize worth of RM 50, 000 in cash and products or services will be given to the finalists. Not only that, winners and sponsors will be entitled to Ambassadors Pageant Education, Advertising and Publicity.

Participants will be exposed to Grooming, Catwalk and Stage Presentation trainings. In the last round, a Question and Answer segment will be conducted with the top 5 finalists. These finalists will be in the running for the coveted title of Miss & Mrs Kebaya 2017/2018 as well as subsidiaries titles—Best Elegant, Best Photo, Best Ambassador, Most Popular, Most Friendly. The criteria of judgment will include appearance, intelligence and sincerity of the contestants. The winners will be representing Malaysia to compete in Miss & Mrs Kebaya World 2017/2018.

Miss & Mrs Kebaya World is to be held in Malaysia for the first time, next year. The whole journey includes walk-in audition, studio shooting, press conference, fashion and talent shows, sponsorship visiting activities, charity activities, training, grooming and rehearsal as well as the Grand Finale. The whole duration is estimated to take up to 2 - 3 months.

During the press conference, MMK organizer, Jason Hee said, “These participants will be the cultural and traditional ambassador of Malaysia to promote our national heritage and tourism to the world.” The rise in participants this year is a good indication that people are open to join this competition which emphasizes on traditional clothing. More than 500 contestants have registered since October, doubling the participations compared to last year.
