Malaysia’s first family friendly café-boutique has officially opened its doors in Publika Shopping Gallery. Style Annexe X Coffee Bay was launched on January 18 by AirAsia Berhad Group Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes and Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim.

Looking at the courageous effort of the founders, Tan Sri Tony was taken on a nostalgic journey back to his early days when he first started AirAsia; with inadequate funds and merely two airplanes. He applauded their noble initiative of giving young Malaysian designers an opportunity to promote their work in this increasingly tough world.

“I think it’s brave; it’s fantastic! AirAsia is all about promoting young entrepreneurs and we will do our part in supporting this effort,” exclaimed the chief executive officer.

This unique store is the nation’s first fashion-café concept providing an exciting shopping experience with its various lifestyle products from over 20 local brands coupled with an extensive menu of specially curated local delicacies.

Catering to folks from all walks of life and age groups, visitors will be able to shop from a variety of cosmetics brands, home décor items, bags, and accessories while indulging in the various food options and unwinding in the tastefully-designed store.

Joanna Renisa, founder of Style Annexe X Coffee Bay, stressed that the main objective of this store is to provide an opportunity to fashion designers, entrepreneurs, and creative practitioners to put their products on display for business sales that are not merely valued but also lucrative.

“Every brand that wants to be a part of this store will be regulated by me with a total of 3 evaluations to be passed by vendors before being placed here. Apart from that, we also emphasise on the price control, product quality excellence, stitching and other criteria including providing consultancy service to vendors who want to join us,” clarified Joanna.

Co-founder Azri Jamaludin added that the exquisite design of the store, which covers 2,000 square feet and divided into a few sections, can even serve as an ideal venue for events, meetings, photography sessions and more.

According to the founders, the store will carry local fashion brands such as Noh Batik, SxS, Amy Search General Products, Maci Haflin, Tsar, Fireworks, Design East, Haizi and more. However, these items will not be exceeding RM1,000 in price.

Staying true to its Malaysian roots, Style Annexe X Coffee Bay features an array of traditional desserts alongside other menu items. “Under our Heritage Series, we have local delicacies such as Seri Muka, Ketayap, Bingka Ubi, Onde Onde along with the traditional Johorean oven-baked bread called Tok Ti’s Roti Naik as well as the ever famous Kluang Nasi Lemak,” described the outlet’s Head Chef Timothy Ryan.

Prominent figures that graced the launch event include Noryn Aziz, Arja Lee, Hannah Tan, Amy Search, Ayda Jebat, Yasmin Hani as well as local social media influencers.
