Emmy-nominated animated series Saladin has successfully made its way into the global market by landing on Ali Huda via a deal announced by Primeworks Studios, earlier today. Being the official distributor of Saladin, Primeworks Studios expressed that this marks the first of such deal with Ali Huda, an over-the-top (OTT) platform that caters exclusively to Muslim children all over the globe.
Of recent, Primeworks Studios have started looking at international distribution as one of its main pillars of business. This had led to the interest of matching content to platforms more intently than ever before.
Primeworks Studios CEO Ahmad Izham Omar expressed, “As one of the leading production houses in South East Asia, PWS’ content library is extensive. However, we believe that there is an abundance of quality regional content in the market that have yet to reach its relevant platforms. We could not be happier to be in the business of building a bridge to drive that content to international platforms such as Ali Huda.”
The animation series is inspired by the life of medieval statesman and warrior Salah al-Din Yusuf Ibn Ayyub and has went on to receive nomination at the International Emmy’s back in 2011. Saladin is now amongst the hundreds of shows available on Ali Huda.
Ali Huda CEO Maruf Yusupov reiterated, “We are constantly on the look-out for quality content that is able to entertain and educate children about Islam in a fun way and we are happy to work with Primeworks Studios to add Saladin to the list of titles on our platform.”
