McMillan Woods Global Awards Extends Far Beyond Mere Recognition

McMillan Woods Global Awards is an international award event which strives to highlight and praise only successful leaders and enterprises in their respective fields or for their vast contributions to the growth of global economy and society. There is simply no denying that this award has etched its way into becoming synonymous with prestige and excellence within the global circumference. One clear evidence is the fact that the Global Awards will be returning for the 6th consecutive year come May 23rd.

The Global Awards is presented by McMillan Woods Global which is an international network/association of independent local and regional firms of recognised qualified accountants and professional advisers. This makes up the committee that upholds the same philosophy as the McMillan Woods Global President itself, Dato’ Seri Raymond Liew.

Liew has worked hard to make his award something of a significance in this era where recognition is easily attainable. The Global Awards recipients are hand-picked and only the current best of the bests can make their way into the exclusive list.

Liew has worked hard to make his award something of a significance in this era where recognition is easily attainable. The Global Awards recipients are hand-picked and only the current best of the bests can make their way into the exclusive list.

That said, the awards goes far beyond merely receiving recognition. Liew attests that winning the award makes solid business sense for the recipients. Through this platform, they are able to network with other recipients which most often leads to establishing mutual business collaborations and partnerships.

The selection process of the recipients are meticulous as it begins with a minimum of 100 nominees that are selected by McMillan Woods’ internal selection team. This is based on news reports, reports by Companies Commission of Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia and Bursa Malaysia, corporate websites as well as personal meetings at networking events.

The next step is the elimination process where nominees that have a tainted reputation or those who fail to meet their potential growth forecast are dropped from the list. The final judging takes place three weeks prior to the awards by the Independent Adjudicator Team. This team selects the recipients based on criteria such as leadership, financial performance, global impact, personal integrity and influence, strategic direction, innovation and corporate social responsibility.

It is this lengthy process that determines who is truly deserving of the award while simultaneously reinforcing the recipients’ exceptional qualities within the corporate world. World’s Richest Woman of 2012 Georgina Rinehart, who was one of the award recipients of last year, expressed that, “McMillan Woods Global Awards is a much sought-after award, which I have always looked forward to each year. It’s also an opportunity for me to meet with my fellow global leaders – a celebration of the best people!” International violinist, Dennis Lau also exclaimed, “With all the collaborations that I have done, I am very proud to be one of the recipients of the McMillan Woods Global Awards.”
