After 6 years crowned as Malaysia’s first and only business TV channel, Capital TV has officially launched by Online Dynamics (M) Sdn Bhd as Channel W, a news and information channel with a brand new identity and direction. The company plans to start the live updates earlier, as early as from breakfast time, in the future. Channel W is available to all unifi TV subscribers on channel 634 without any charge.
Channel W provides live and up to date information covering a wide areas of topics – from business and politics up to entertainment and showbiz. Live updates from Channel W studio is currently aired daily from 5pm till 11pm.
The company was awarded with the Content Application Service License – Individual (CASP(I)) under Communication and Multimedia Act (1998) that enables free-to-air public broadcaster and the company is now in discussion with MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd to commence trial broadcast of Channel W on the digital terrestrial television (DTT) platform.
“Our society is faced with information overload and they seek non partisan source of information that they can rely on. The channel has to evolve to cater to that demand”, expressed Noor Azman Yusof, the CEO of Channel W.
Channel W also announced the partnership collaboration with MYV Broadcasting for broadcasting on the DTT platform; with Persatuan Penerbit Filem Malaysia (PFM) for the promotion and exposure of Malaysian made movies as well as with the nasyid group Raihan for community social work activities.
