Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCIM), an affiliate of Junior Chamber International (JCI) and Malaysia Youth Council (MYC), has taken this role in promoting UNSDGs. JCI is a global nonprofit organization of over 200,000 young active citizens, aged 18 to 40 years old, which are dedicated to creating positive change in their communities and around the world.
Following the success of the inaugural JCIM Sustainable Development Awards last year, this year’s Sustainable Development Awards hosted by JCI Petaling Jaya continued to celebrate and recognize companies and organizations that have organized projects that helped advance these SDGs. There are 17 categories to compete for based on the UNSDGs and the “Best of the Best Project” award is granted to the most outstanding and sustainable project that helps to advance the most goals. The Best of the Best Award goes to KOPERASI ALAM HIJAU PERAK BERHAD, an NGO who embrace SDG Goal Number 13 which is Climate Action through its project, “Social Business: From Trash to Cash – A case study of Jelapang Tambahan”.
