Shell Lubricants is taking the step forward in digitalization of its products, introducing the new label ‘Made for Malaysia’ tagged together with a unique QR code that is able to help consumer to verify the authenticity of the product. This label is part of the Intellectual Property initiatives between Shell and the Malaysian government through the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) to help eradicate counterfeit.

Adding on to this, Shell Malaysia Managing Director, Mr. Shairan Huzaini Husain said that, “The presence of counterfeit and unauthorized products in the market is affecting customers’ confidence and negatively impacting our trade partners’ businesses.  The decision to commence local production of official genuine Shell Helix products is exclusively for the Malaysian market, and clearly identifying them with the new ‘Made for Malaysia’ (Untuk Pasaran Malaysia) label, is a key step to address this issue”.
