MULTI-AWARD PRODUCER, HE QIN OF BEIJING TO SHARE INTERNATIONAL CO-PRODUCTION SUCCESS STORIES OF 'ROAD TO THE SKY' AT THE UPCOMING IC3 (INTERNATIONAL CREATIVE CONTENT CONFERENCE 2019)

On 30th January 2019, He Qin, Managing Director of A True Film (Beijing) Co. Ltd, will be giving the keynotes session for the International Creative Content Conference (IC3) organized by Post Production, Animation & Creative Content Association of Malaysia (POSTAM). IC3 will be held at WOW KL (formerly known as Saloma) at MaTic. It is co-sponsored by FINAS and is also part of the 30th Film Festival Malaysia (FFM30) event.

He Qin begin his career working in the Content Censorship Board for China’s imported films for more than 16 years. He has been the representative for Montreal World Film Festival in China since 2014 to select official entries of Chinese films. He also worked for China National Golden Rooster & Hundred Flower Film Festival to select foreign films since 2012, the standing jury member of Jordon International Film Festival since 2017, the planner of Kunming Golden Peacock Youth Film Festival since 2017. He is a member of China Film and Television Society of Colleges and Universities. He Qin has been involve in featured films such as “The Falling Father” (2013), “Road To The Sky” (2015) and “Over 65 Years’ Promise” (2018); in documentaries such as “A Thousand Years’ Promise” (2016), and “One Man’s Fight” (2017); in short films such as “Love Brings You Back Home” (2016), “Pencils” (2017) and “A Promise & A Love” (2018).

He Qin’s most notable work was the “Road To The Sky” film, which was about the Burma Road during WWII and it was nominated by 38 international film festivals. The film had 20 international premieres and received 24 awards. The film was released in November 2017 in China. He is currently engaged in many China-Foreign co-productions, such as China-Australian co-production “Mission Now” (an action film executive produced by Chinese famous Kung Fung Master Samuel Huang), ‘Avanachi” (the China-American co-production about Flying Tiger during WWII) and also “King of Shadow” (is a China-Malaysian co-production of an animated feature film.

IC3 is held to boost the competitiveness of Malaysia’s creative content industry and to create opportunities for the creative content professionals to collaborate locally and internationally. Therefore, IC3 has an impressive line-up of speakers that will cover a wide range of topics and provide a deeper understanding of the industry. The topics that will be covered during this conference will be ‘Tapping into China Funding for Your Projects’, ‘International Collaboration in Animated Feature Film’, ‘VR Application for Movie & Digital Content’, ‘Do You Need Funding for Your Projects?’ and a panel discussion by the speakers.

Other industry speakers who will be presenting at the IC3 includes Jani Kuronen, Chairman/Co-founder of Anima & CTO/Executive Producer of Anima Point; Havene Liew, Founder & CEO of XR Associates & Managing Director of DJM; Zahrin Aris, Honorary Secretary of Malaysia Film Producers Association (PFM) & CEO of Permodalan Penerbit Filem Malaysia Berhad; and Yoki Chin, Founder/CEO of Point Studios Sdn Bhd, President of Point College, President of Post Production, Animation & Creative Content Association Malaysia (POSTAM) & Honorary Secretary of Creative Content Association Malaysia (CGAM).
