“As responsible citizens, we as Malaysians strongly believes in sustainable practices. While it is important to continue developing our cities and economy, we must remember that we cannot do this at the expense of our environment or the well-being of our future generations. Exercising and adopting environment friendly techniques has been one of the continuous efforts and heartbeat of our nation. Therefore, as a quest to continue this principle, we hope that Malaysians will see the importance of protecting the marine life in order to ensure a healthy eco-system to the environment” said Dr Nagulendran Kangayatkarasu, Deputy Secretary General - Planning & Commercialization, Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) during his opening remarks.
