Firefly Airlines together with Tourism Malaysia celebrated the launch of the Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2020 campaign recently in February 2020 together, along with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. Former MOTAC Minister, YB. Datuk Mohamaddin bin Ketapi; MOTAC Secretary-General, Dato 'Dr. Noor Zari Hamat; Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Musa Yusof; and Firefly CEO, Philip See were present to grace the auspicious occasion.

Logos of “VMY 2020” will be showcased on all aircraft exteriors, interior overhead compartments and meal trays of several aircraft as well as various state’s tourism products. The interior of the aircraft has a vibrant look and feel with images of Malaysian food, culture, beaches, ecotourism, art, and atmosphere. The aesthetic artwork for this campaign is expected to provide visibility of the VMY 2020 and promote Malaysia to the domestic and ASEAN markets.

In conjunction with the VMY 2020 campaign, Firefly will be offering several new and exciting “Firefly Discovery” packages to domestic destinations across Malaysia throughout the year 2020. Phillip See, CEO of Firefly said, “We are pleased to be part of another milestone in the tourism industry, specifically with regards to Visit Malaysia Year 2020. Domestic travel is the new way of travel as many millennials and foodies prefer traveling locally to experience our national culture and diverse cuisine. We trust that with this launch, it will certainly help fulfill the government’s agenda to stimulate growth in tourist visits through tourism.”.
