The COVID-19 coronavirus accumulated a death toll of 88,338 and 1.5 Million confirmed cases worldwide since emerging in China in December 2019.  Although this has become a global crisis, many people are still unaware of the effects of COVID-19 and medium for infections.

By understanding how the coronavirus spreads, it becomes easier to determine precautions that need to be taken by individuals. The coronavirus transmits by droplets from coughing or sneezes (mucus or saliva), which is why everyone is advised to wash and sanitize their hands regularly and cover their mouth when they sneeze or cough; individuals could catch the COVID-19 by touching contaminated surfaces or objects – and then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. The virus has a 2-14 Day incubation period, which means that people who are infected would not observe symptoms right away and would take some time before the virus takes effect. Common symptoms are dry cough, fever, shortness of breath, a sore throat, and headache. Parents should take the responsibility of providing their children with these vital information and measures to protect themselves; also, to prevent discrimination by encouraging children to be kind to others and avoid stereotypes when talking about the virus.

With that said, Malaysia's first youngest international kids’ model, Chanel Chan, expresses her concerns for children all over the world and hopes that everyone complies with the Government's order to #stayathome. She also advises children to not be gullible on everything that is posted on the Internet and urges children and adults to refer to credible websites for information on the coronavirus. Although the influential 7-year old international model is unhappy that she is not able to meet and play with her friends, she cares about the safety and well-being of her family. Chanel Chan has suggested several exciting activities for kids to do at home during the quarantine:
