CINEMAS, POOLS & LIVE EVENTS ARE ALLOWED FROM JULY 1ST WHILE COMPLYING WITH SOPs

After more than 3 months of being left in the dark, there is phenomenal news for cinema-goers as the Senior Minister for Security and Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that cinemas, theatres operations and live indoor events will be allowed to take place beginning 1st July. He also mentioned that private pools at hotels, apartments & condominiums can also resume from 1st July onwards.

 

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said "It depends on the capacity of the hall, but the usual standard operating procedure (SOP) set, especially on social distancing, must be observed at all times,

 

According to him, the capacity is set at 250 individuals for any given activity while complying with SOPs; However, Water theme parks are still not allowed to operate. He added that the decision of whether or not children are allowed to use the pools is left to the parents or pool operators to decide.

 

"Although there is no restriction for children to use these pools, the government does not encourage this.” He said.
