Starting 1 July 2020, theaters for performing arts, music, and dancing will be allowed to use facilities that are under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MoTAC), while complying strictly towards the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). YB Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Minister of Motac, has announced that stage premises (Panggung Sari) will be exempted from rental until the end of December 2020 to soften the blow that COVID-19 has left on the industry. The exemption of rent is one of the initiatives that the government is taking through MoTAC to help the performing arts industry that wasn't allowed to operate since 18 March 2020.

The ‘Konsert New Normal’ was held on 17 & 18 July 2020 as an effort to educate the public on the environment of the theaters with new implementations by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Malaysian National Security Council (MKN). Based on the new SOP, the Panggung Sari theater that usually fits 1413 people, will now only allow 505 audience members at a time. Other than the regular temperature check, use of sanitizers upon entry, and the practice of social distancing, the theater will be sanitized twice daily (once before after every performance).
