MATA LAUNCHES DOMESTIC FAMILIARIZATION (FAM) TRIP IN AN EFFORT TO REVIVE THE TOURISM INDUSTRY IN MALAYSIA

Press Conference of the launch of MATA's Domestic Familiarization (FAM) Trip

Earlier this August, Malaysia Association Tourism Agency (MATA) launched a Familiarization (FAM)Trip program to enhance the promotion of Cuti-Cuti Malaysia among tourism industry players. The objective of this program is to update and provide the latest information on tourism products that is available throughout the country.

 

Through this initiative, MATA intends to introduce the travel agencies that are specialized in outbound services to the many attractions in Malaysia. By doing so, it will give them ideas to create domestic tourism packages, which will be able to stimulate the domestic tourism industry. The Tourism Industry is most affected by this COVID-19 pandemic. It is of great significance and importance to reactivate the tourism industry as it contributes 15% to Malaysia's GDP and employs more than 20% of the Malaysian workforce.

 

The MATA FAM Trip program will be held once a month from August 2020. MATA members consisting of travel agency owners from all across Malaysia, as well as media partners, will be invited to join this program.
