Visitors can expect more at KL Converge! this year as FINAS is organising its first ‘Character & Creative Licensing Expo.’ The expo will showcase popular local and international intellectual properties (IPs) that are ready to be licensed on the first 2 days. The event is set to attract licensing agencies, retailers, merchandisers, manufacturers and public visitors as their merchandise will be available for sale on the third day.
The highlights of the expo also include special appearance by famous local and international characters such as Upin & Ipin, BoBoiBoy, Chuck Chicken, Ryujin Juwara, Pororo, Bola Kampung, Ana Muslim, Eori and more. FINAS is also organising a cosplay and photography competition on the third day where participants stand a chance to win an Apple Watch and a GoPro camera, exclusive local and international film screenings throughout the event, creative content conferences, as well as MyDoc Pitching sessions – where content creators can learn how to sell their ideas.
Anticipating the three-day extravaganza, Dato' Mohd Mahyidin Mustakim, the CEO of CCAM, reiterated that, “By creating new business opportunities through convergence among industries, we have the potential to achieve our target of RM7bil contribution from creative content industry to Malaysia’s GNI (Gross National Income) by 2020.”
