Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA) has revealed that the international health screening medical provider, MJ Health, will be the new title sponsor for MABA’s premier competition, the Agong Cup National Championship. Over the course of a three-year period, from 2021 to 2023, MJ health will be sponsoring a total amount of RM1.5 million. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Agong Cup National Championship 2020 was cancelled; however, the 2021 edition will be held in Melaka, tentatively in early May 2021. Present at the signing ceremony was the guest of honor, Dato’ Saifuddin Bin Abdullah – Minister of Communications and Multimedia, who has always been an avid supporter of Malaysian Basketball.
MABA President, Datuk Wira Tan Kang Yong said, “MJ Health has always been a friend to MABA. Their goals resonate very well with our ethos, which wants to make our society healthier, fitter, and happier through Basketball. We cannot wait for the tournament to start again as it is such a prestigious competition within our sport. Covid-19 has been a challenge, but we want to get Malaysian basketball going again.”
