D' Network - Setia Eco Park, Setia Alam
With the technological advancements in just about everything in the world today, it is important as ever to preserve the ecosystem and create a sustainable future. Property developers, SP Setia, has done just that with the launch of D' Network, the world’s first solar-powered food and beverage (F&B) hub at Setia Eco Park in Setia Alam, Selangor.
Spanning over 3.16 acres, D'Network is powered by 345kWp of hybrid solar energy and uses a hybrid system that utilizes minimal energy from traditional electricity grids. During the daytime, photovoltaic cells in the solar panels produce electricity for common areas in D’Network, and the excess is stored in the national grid. At night, the stored solar power is used to power the lightings, ventilators, air-conditioners, irrigation systems, musical fountain, and a waste composting machine (produces plant fertilizers).

SP Setia hopes to take their vision of building an ecofriendly Hub to the next level by turning any food waste into bio-compost through microbial compression technology, powered by solar energy. This bio-compost will be used to fertilize the plants in the Malaysian-themed garden that portrays the beautiful flowers of our country. Among the tenants that are ready and open are the Grand Ya Lim Seafood restaurant, The Grange Restaurant, Thai Odyssey, San Francisco Coffee, and Garden Grocer supermarket, among others.
D'Network also houses the world's 1st solar powered musical fountain. The centerpiece of the musical fountain doubles up as a solar panel to power the changing lights, water dancing, and the music. The songs played on the musical fountain can be chosen by patrons to elevate the dining experience at D'Network.
