ChemCaper ACT I: Petticles in Peril, the world’s first chemistry role-playing game (RPG) from Malaysia, has been successfully funded on Kickstarter, an online platform to help bring creative projects to life via crowdfunding. The project closed on Kickstarter at USD 55,564 in funding, surpassing their target by 11% with the backing of 1,046 dedicated fans from all over the world in just a month.
About 70% of the Kickstarter fund will go entirely into building the PC version of ChemCaper: Act I – Petticles in Peril, while the next 20% of the funds will go directly into rewarding their backers with digital wallpaper; physical art book; soundtrack CD; Collector's Edition game box; and more, and the remaining 10% will be used to set up the campaign.
“We are so grateful for the immense support that we received from people all over the world, and we could not be more thrilled that so many are on board with our movement to reinvent education. The Kickstarter success will jump-start ChemCaper: Act I - Petticles in Peril mobile game launch, both on iOS and Android versions in March. Soon after, we will be developing the PC version and of course, ChemCaper's subsequent acts,” said Vincent Xu, Director of Ace Edventure Studio.
In addition, the game has been greenlit on Steam, a system by Valve Corporation that enlists the community's help in picking some of the new games to be released on the platform, in January just after 10 days. Since then, Valve has reached out to Ace Edventure Studio, the game’s developer to start moving forward towards releasing the game on Steam.
Kickstarter has successfully funded more than 100,000 start-up projects with USD 2.2 Billion total dollars pledged to various projects on the platform by 10 million people, since its launch in April 2009.
