Astro; Malaysian satellite pay TV service provider, continues to expand its edutainment program with a spin-off of Oh My English! (OME!); the most popular local edutainment TV series, titled Oh My English! After School which is set for broadcast on Astro TVIQ (Channel 610) and Maya HD (Channel 135) starting on 31st July 2016 at 6.30 pm.

The new series will take its fans to a different setting as it follows the lives of the SMK Ayer Dalam students after their high school graduation. Continuing with its signature humorous dialogue, After School begins with the three best friends; See Yew Soon (Roax Tan), Zack (Juzzthin) and Jibam (Akhmal Nazri) running a hipster café owned by Mr. A. Hilarity ensues when they try to communicate with different customers every day.

Vickie Lai, Head of Astro's Education Division commented, “After School came with a new and interesting concept; different from its previous classroom setting which has become synonym with the brand, as we wanted to showcase the usage of English in a larger context, with the exposure to everyday life scenarios to help the viewers improve their overall English skills.”

In addition to the new series, the spin-off also includes OME! Big Challenge, a series of online questions based on four different modules; Reading, Listening, Grammar and Writing, that can be accessed on the series official Facebook page. Upon completion, users will be rewarded with a certificate endorsed by the British Council and Astro. Moreover, the series has also introduced OME! Board Game; a fun board game with a twist that teaches the players to speak better English, OME! Buddy App; an interactive mobile app for everyone to practice their conversational English, and OME! Interactive Storybook; follow the antic of the series’ popular characters as they bizarrely swap bodies, with 10 alternate endings.

Debuted in 2012, the series has successfully recorded more than 22 million views on YouTube and it was the only Southeast Asian series to be nominated for the 2015 International Digital Emmy Awards, under the Children and Young People category.
