MyCreative Ventures Sdn Bhd (MyCreative) and the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) penned a Collaboration Agreement to bolster the national creative content industry, at The Royal Chulan Damansara on 5th August 2016.
Witnessed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato' Sri Najib Razak and MyCreative’s Chairman, Dato' Sri Farid Ridzuan, the agreement was signed by Dato' Kamil Othman, Director General of FINAS and Johan Ishak, CEO of MyCreative.
Under the agreement, MyCreative is set to provide bridging facilities for selected FINAS grant recipients including those under the Film in Malaysia Incentive (FIMI) programme. This is to allow smooth production activities while administrative processing is undertaken.
Dato' Sri Farid Ridzuan, Chairman of MyCreative said, "This effort will allow a more robust package necessary for content players to contribute to the Malaysian creative industry, particularly in creating entrepreneurs who can fuel the growth of the economy."
The collaboration is also extended to consider combining a financial package of MyCreative's existing loans with FINAS' grants for selected production companies with the right growth prospect. This effort will ensure adequate funding arrangement for producers to complete their projects, allowing them to focus on creating good content.
